Suspiria

Suzy, do you know anything about... witches?

The dance academy is already a witch coven before Suzy arrives; the question is only when the architecture will reveal itself. Argento deploys color saturation, Goblin's prog-rock score, and a logic of pure dream to produce something that functions less as narrative than as sustained assault on the viewer's nervous system. The score alone — that whispered 'witch, witch, witch' — is installed permanently upon first contact.
